On the afternoon of July 9, the Qiaopi History and Cultural Exhibition kicked off at the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce Tower in Thailand. Letters and remittance certificates sent by Chinese expatriates to China not only convey their homesickness but also reflect the vigorous exchanges between China and the world through the stories of families, cities, and countries. Lin Chuqin, chairman of the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce said that Qiaopi was familiar to him from his childhood and highly relevant to the experience of his father’s generation. And he was more surprised to find in the exhibition the letters his father sent back home. These letters are direct evidence of the importance overseas Chinese attached to kinship and how deeply they loved their hometowns.

侨批历史文化展泰国开幕

7月9日下午，“三江出海 一纸还乡”侨批历史文化展在泰国中华总商会大厦光华堂拉开帷幕。阅读一封封侨批，当中记载的不仅是对桑梓的思念情怀，更在一段段家、城、国的故事中体现中华优秀传统文化如何与世界交融互鉴、迸发活力。泰国中华总商会主席林楚钦说，侨批是从小就熟悉的事物，且与父辈的经历有着深刻关联，更让他惊喜的是，在侨批展现场，发现了他父亲寄到家乡的批信，它们体现着华侨重视族亲、心系桑梓的情谊。
